Who we are

Platinum Star Properties, Inc. is a licensed California real estate brokerage, corporation license #02141936, Broker of Record Jonathan Brier, license #02207471. What we collect

• Information you give us on a form: your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, California DRE license number and expiration date, association and continuing education status, and your answers to the broker disclosure questions.
• Payment information, when you purchase a plan. Card details are entered on our payment processor's page and are handled by the processor. We do not see or store full card numbers.
• Information generated automatically when you visit: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring page, and similar analytics data.
• Records of your communications with us, including emails, text messages and call notes.

We do not ask for a Social Security number or taxpayer identification number on any web form. If you join the brokerage, your taxpayer ID is collected on an IRS Form W-9 inside a secure electronic signing envelope, which is the only place we collect it.

Why we collect it

• To process and evaluate your application to affiliate with the brokerage
• To schedule and conduct the broker interview
• To prepare and deliver the Independent Contractor Agreement, policy manual and tax forms
• To file the required notifications with the California Department of Real Estate
• To bill your plan and pay you commissions or referral fees
• To prepare referral agreements on your behalf
• To respond to your questions and provide support
• To meet our record keeping obligations as a licensed brokerage
• To improve the website and understand how people use it

Text messages and calls

If you give consent, we may send you text messages about your application, your account, your plan, referrals in progress, and brokerage announcements. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving messages, or HELP for help.

We do not sell, rent or share mobile phone numbers or SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of applying, of being approved, or of purchasing anything. Numbers are shared only with the messaging service providers who deliver messages for us, and only for that purpose.

Calls may be recorded or notes taken for accuracy and compliance. If you prefer not to be recorded, say so at the start of the call.

Who we share information with

We share only what is necessary, and only with:

• The California Department of Real Estate, as required for license affiliation
• Our payment processor, to bill your plan
• Our electronic signature provider, to deliver documents for signature
• Our customer relationship and messaging platform, which stores your record for us
• Our accountant and, where required, tax authorities
• The receiving broker or agent on a referral you send, limited to what the referral requires
• Our errors and omissions insurance carrier, if a claim arises
• Law enforcement or a regulator, where we are legally required to respond

We do not sell your personal information, and we have not sold or shared personal information for cross context behavioral advertising in the preceding twelve months.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, remember your preferences, and measure traffic. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site may not work correctly if you do.

How long we keep it

Applications that do not result in affiliation are kept for two years. Records for agents who affiliate with the brokerage, including agreements, transaction and commission records, are kept for at least three years after the end of the relationship, as California real estate law requires, and longer where tax law requires it.

Your rights in California

If you are a California resident you have the right to know what personal information we have collected about you, to request a copy of it, to ask us to correct it, and to ask us to delete it, subject to the record keeping obligations described above. You also have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights.

Security

We use encrypted connections, access controls and reputable vendors to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your information we will notify you as required by California law.

Children

This site is intended for licensed real estate professionals and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Links to other sites

Our payment pages, signing pages and agent network are operated by other companies under their own privacy policies. Once you leave this site, this policy no longer governs.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If a change materially affects how we use information you already gave us, we will notify you by email.
